Paradigm Shift Economics

This section describes the various "aspects" of paradigm shift.  These are guiding ideals and principles. Aspects include actions we can take in our own lives on behalf of paradigm shift. Nothing here is magic.  Its really all common sense. Our own best interests are dependent on the best interests of others and the well being of the natural world.  Positive human potential is our greatest renewable resource.

This chapter describing Aspects also has a close link of the Chapter, "Be The Change." Be The Change describes paradigm shift in more personal terms and encourages people to not only understand the ideals and actions of paradigm shift but to purposefully identify with paradigm shift and consciously use their own lifestyle as an example of what paradigm shift can look like. In one sense, "Aspects" is a good look at the ideals and actions of paradigm shift. In the sense of Be The Change, its a primer on transforming one's lifestyle and using and sharing that valuable transformation experience with the wider world as an advocate of paradigm shift. So this link to Be The Change uses another color to identify this distinction. Each explanation of the elements in the graphic above will include a short comment linking that element to Be The Change, in color.

Paradigm shift has an identity that people can bond with and be drawn to.  Aspects call for actions that are guided by values, principles and intentions that lead to paradigm shift. These aspects and actions apply at small and large scale.

We look at downsizing eco footprints.  How we prioritize our own time and money. We can show and tell what paradigm shift looks like in our own lifestyles and homes.  Taking paradigm shift to a wider audience - we have an enormous movement just waiting to discover itself with many allies and assets there to be discovered and put to use.

Paradigm shift is all about building civic culture.  We make time to engage in the community when we make common cause with allies and assets. With luck,  paradigm shift initiative from the grass roots will connect with others and increase in scale and benefits to transform public policy and the economic system.  Permaculture principles, ideals and ethics is another valuable tool for moving towards sustainability and uplift.

And of course, The Wisdom Of The World's Great Spiritual Traditions is a perfect fit for paradigm shift. Not the religion, but the social ideals of uplift, modesty of lifestyle, care for the natural world, accountability and service to the community.

The more people actively engaged in paradigm shift the better.

Here are several basic attributes of paradigm shift that help put aspects into context.
* Our society will not reach sustainability, peace and justice as long as capitalism, the consumer culture and its political and business servants, control our economy and political system.
* We can make paradigm shift changes in our own lives, with our families, with friends and neighbors as soon as we care to, no permission needed. The focus of those changes is reducing our ecological footprints and building uplifted civic culture.
* We have many allies and assets at home, on the street, the neighborhood, the community, the nation, to work with, to create paradigm shift.
* Paradigm shift can be paid for by how we manage our own time and money in our own homes, neighborhoods and communities.
* The benefits of paradigm shift are eco logical but also personal, social, even spiritual.
* Bringing out the best in positive human potential is a core ideal of paradigm shift. Positive human potential is our greatest renewable resource.
* The many thousands of people and progressive organizations already working to create a “better” world, are, essentially, an enormous movement, waiting to recognize itself.

That's all good. Let's have a look at aspects of paradigm shift.
