Welcome to the Primer!

This is the new home for "A Primer For Paradigm Shift." A living book - content will be added. The Primer advocates and empowers taking action on behalf of sustainability and social uplift in one’s own life, home, neighborhood and community. The Primer encourages making common cause with others and to be an affirmative example of "Be The Change."

The Primer advocates reclaiming our humanity.

Important -  paradigm shift can happen in scale from one's personal lifestyle to the entire society.  The Primer explains how even at personal and home scale, paradigm shift can take place and deliver many benefits. The more people engaged in PS and the more they make common cause, the larger the scale of transformation but again, even a single person can make changes in lifestyle and self "management" as described in the Primer [and other sources], that open the door to many of the benefits of paradigm shift. I know from personal experience. Every day.

The Primer describes real life examples of people and projects ALREADY in the act of paradigm shift. We can build on the experience of others. The Primer shares many of those stories. Paradigm shift is not a future utopia, its common sense in the here and now. No permission required.

As used in the Primer, "Paradigm Shift" means
1] the act of purposefully moving towards a society that takes care of its needs within the boundaries of the natural world
2] a society that embraces the ideal to bring out the best in positive human potential of its members and
3] that society is served by an honest and responsible economic system

From this perspective, the reasons for paradigm shift are equally, care for the natural world and care for the human condition. A healthy society goes with a healthy environment.
There is no lack of human and financial capacity to create the present and future we all deserve. The greatest need is to recognize our own value and potentials and then to manifest what we are all capable of.

Social and economic conditions and capacity are not equal across society. Still, there is a place in paradigm shift for everyone. No legislation, no policy, no permission needed. The paradigm shift ideal is for home, neighborhood and local transformations to connect, support and amplify each other to become a widespread Movement. Critical to paradigm shift is to gracefully share what we are learning with friends, neighbors and the wider world.

Paradigm shift can manifest in suburbia, transformed apartment complexes, local economic development corporations, neighborhood associations, youth programs, empowered seniors, school gardens, strip mall parking lots, progressive business, pushing back on cars and many many other opportunities.

To prioritize our own time and money is a core principle of paradigm shift.

The Primer is inclusive. It applauds people and projects that boost paradigm shift even if they don’t identify with, or are not even aware of the term Paradigm Shift.  A vital part of paradigm shift is making common cause with allies and assets found in almost any home, neighborhood and community.

Work on the Primer is on going. More content is added weekly. New ideas for writings occur almost daily. This book on line instead of hard copy allows for flexibility, graphics and fotos; updates, easy links to other parts of the Primer and new material.  Access to the Primer is free. Readers are invited to $UPPORT the Primer, encourage friends and networks to reference the Primer and put the ideals and actions of the Primer into use in their own lives. Readers are encouraged to TELL ME about about examples of paradigm shift they are involved with or know about.  This site can become a surging resource to show and tell what humans are capable of to make common cause with others on behalf of environmental, social and economic sustainability.

Note -There is no "AI assistance" writing the Primer.

Several Soundbites

Here are several important soundbites from the Primer.
*Positive human potential is our greatest renewable resource.
*Capitalism is not broken, the damage it causes to people and planet is just what it does.
*There are untold pioneers of a sustainable and uplifted present and future already at work, they are pioneers and point the way.
*Every home, neighborhood and community has untold allies and assets to work with on behalf of creating a society humans are capable of creating and deserve.
  * Virtually every progressive ad hoc group or organization exists to repair some kind of damage caused by capitalism and the consumer culture, they are all on the same team.  We have an enormous Movement just waiting to discover itself, make common cause and help move humanity towards sustainability and uplift of the spirit.
